- Here's two scenarios where memory comes into play. It shouldn't surprise you that these are both working with forms. You've heard the phrase out of sight, out of mind in this course already when we were discussing modal dialogs. This can be can good thing, or it can be a bad thing. It's a good thing when we hide superfluous information or form fields from view. But what about when we hide information that is important or we make it disappear? Not good. It's becoming more trendy to create minimalist interfaces where form field labels are either non-existent or are overlaid on the fields themselves. This has some significant impacts on how people use these forms. Let's take a look as we walk through the mechanics of filling out a form that uses this technique. Note how the prompt disappears once you start typing? That may not appear to be much of a big deal to you, but I'm sure this has happened to you before.
