- Proximity is a pretty important concept for everyone, especially for people with vision impairment. The last time I was in London, I stayed at a hotel. And I climbed into the shower, and noticed a hot water tap on the left, and a hot water tap on the right. So I got out of the shower, and I didn't know how to operate it. It didn't make sense until I turned around and saw a tile that said, "The left tap operates the shower, "the right tap operates the bath." So now I at least know if I'm going to burn my head or my feet. The problem with this interface is that the tile with the instructions is six feet away from the faucet, and on a completely different wall. If two things are closely related, then they need to be close together in the interface. This happens a lot in web interfaces, and the impact is huge.
