- [Instructor] Another more quick way to enter materials into your takeoff is to use common assemblies. Go up to your designations in your Takeoff dropdown and you'll find Common Assemblies right here. Under Common Assemblies, there's different types of groups of materials, distribution, lighting, switches, junction boxes. There's even some conduit feeders and systems assemblies too. I'm going to show you a few of these and show you how handy they are. First, let's go into Switches. Left click it, I'll find the type of switch assembly that I want. Let's find one that has got some MC cable. Here it is. 15-amp and 20-amp switches. MC cable flush or surface. Left click it. Well, I'm not doing wood frame. I think I'm doing metal stud.
