    Again, very basic. A couple of things I'd disagree with - one is about something in one of the other segments about scaling plans. Many say that its best to not scale plans as it could lead to errors and you, the subcontractor or even general, could get in trouble. When in doubt I think its best to ask the architect or engineer. But if the plans are not perfectly scaled or your copy has been shrunk or enlarged or otherwise distorted then what? Also, when I was a residential GC, I used the remodeling book for residential issued for the insurance industry for labor. But many of its estimates missed many elements or I felt were unrealistic. I think its best to have the company you estimate for working to make those calculations and records in the field so there are more accurate and assured labor measurements. This is also, as the instructor states, the time where experience in the field you are estimating for or conference with someone who has experience is so essential.
