- [Instructor] Before we begin take off for a project, we want to go to the takeoff tab down below and set up some of our sorting fields or choosing fields. They're called fields, I like to call them sorting fields. You'll notice all these drop-downs across the top. The job will always stay the same. However, drawing, area, phase, system, and bid item can all be customized. Starting with drawing, you can click on the drawing button and the dialogue box will open. Perhaps I want to enter lines of takeoff based on a particular drawing. Here's where I set up the drawings. I'll call this drawing E-100. I can add another one called E-101. I could call another one E-102. And so on. I could even put in different names, such as M-100 if I had some work on a mechanical drawing. It's that simple. Once I have them all put in, I could even arrange them by clicking moving up and move down, like so. When I'm done, I click close.…
