Animating with classic tweens

- [Instructor] We're going to want to animate the texts we created, and text objects cannot be animated on their own. So we'll need to convert it to a symbol in order to apply classic tween to it. Let's go ahead and convert this text to an graphic symbol. There's a couple ways we can do this. First of all, select the text object and then choose modify convert to symbol. This will wrap our text object in the symbol type of our choosing. I'm going to name the symbol message text. And for type I want to choose graphic symbol. Graphic symbols have a timeline that's bound, framed a frame to the root timeline. Many professional animators prefer using graphics symbols because of the ability to preview the internal animation and visual control over the internal timeline on a per frame basis. Go ahead and hit okay, and we can see in the properties panel for the object properties this is an instance now of message text which is a graphic symbol.
