- The pen tool is available in some form within just about every Adobe design application. Animate is no exception to this. Let's use the pen tool to draw out a ragged chain of mountains across the horizon. Now I want the mountains to be behind our ground layer. So let's add a new layer right above the sun layer and we'll name it mountains. With that layer selected we can actually lock all of our layers from right up top here, and let's just unlock that layer, just to be sure we're only dealing with our mountains layer. If we look over to the side here, we can find the pen tool in this area. Now, if you don't see certain tools, when I go over them, note that we can actually edit our toolbar with this little ellipse symbol down here. So any tool that might not appear in your toolbar, depending upon your workspace, you can always get to by editing the toolbar. Ours is right here so I'm going to choose the pen tool and you can select what kind of stroke you want. I'm just going to kind…
