- [Instructor] Like themes, WordPress has a plethora of plugins that you can install and use. WordPress plugins are helpful extensions that let you add functionally or add new features to your WordPress site. Plugins vary from doing very small things, like displaying related posts or integrating a form, to completely augmenting your site into an eCommerce store or social network. If you need something, there's probably a plugin that can help you do it. Each time you install a new plugin on your WordPress site, you add new code to your site. That's good, because it allows you to add all kinds of cool functionality to WordPress. But because these external code additions don't undergo the same rigorous scrutiny as the code in the WordPress core, it's also not something that you should take lightly.
