- [Instructor] Let's talk about the difference between design pattern libraries and style guides. Design pattern libraries focus on the interactions of user interface elements, whereas style guides focus on the branding aspect of the design. Style guides are primarily focused on the brand, including logo assets, color values, writing guidelines for voice and tone, and directives on how to use photography. The focus of a style guide is the expression of the brand through all touchpoints, including advertising, letterhead, and how the brand is expressed through the web and mobile presence. Here's an example of a brand style guide from Spotify. You can see in these guidelines that there's an emphasis on logo usage and color palettes.
