How to search and install plugins

- [Instructor] Finding and installing plugins is extremely easy in Adobe XD. After all it will be kind of ironic that a UX design application would offer the user a bad user experience When accessing a panel. There are two ways of accessing the Adobe XD plugin screen. You can either just click the plugins menu at the top of the screen, navigate down and then choose browse plugins. Or alternatively, you can click this icon here and the bottom left corner of the screen to access the list of currently installed plugins. And at the top of the screen, there's a plus symbol. When you click that plus symbol, you will open up the exact same plugin screen that you would access find the menu. Now in order to install a plugin you only thing you need to do is just have your mouse on top of the install button for the plugin that you like. For example, the Document Chat and then just click the install button. No pop-ups, no permissions, no nothing. You just click the install button and it is automatically installed. And then added to your list of active plugins. Now, there are a couple of ways of finding the plugin that you're looking for. First of all, here in the discover tab there is the editor's choice, which is basically a featured collection built by the Adobe XD team. So if you click that selection here you will get a collection of curated plugins that are very popular at this moment. So from here you can just click any individual plugin to expect its properties, read the information click any of the screenshots cycle through the screenshots until you have it. And then the decide, if you want to install the plugin or not Installing again is very simple. We just click the install button from here and Adobe XD will automatically download and then add that plugin to your list of available plugins. I'll just quickly navigate back here to the main screen. Notice that for these curated galleries of plugins you can also share this link to this specific gallery or you can also choose to install all of these plugins in one simple go. I'll quickly hit the back button again and just quickly go through the other options available. So there's another featured collection here that's called Jumpstart Your Designs which just gives you a basic set of plugins mostly for designing user experiences. I'll quickly go back and check out the other options here. There's an essential plugins category. Again, with more selections. There is a connectivity selection here which basically gives you an offering of plugins that all have to do with external services that integrate with Adobe XD. For example, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Dropbox, Sapling and many others. And then at the bottom, we have even more categories. If you're a sketch user and you're migrating to Adobe XD this is where you would go to find all of the familiar sketch plugins, which most of the time are also compatible with Adobe XD. Here's a copywriting and localization category and there's a testing and usability category. Now here at the bottom again and we have even more categories, for example for publishing and handoff or using design assets. Again, just a simple click. We'll give you a filtered view of those specific plugins here, but if you kind of know the plugin that you're looking for the easiest way to access that is just by clicking the browse option and then just typing the plugin that you're looking for. So for example, if I'm looking for something like Google sheets, you just type that in and able to just list all the plugins that have to do with Google sheets. From here, you can just, again, inspect or install the plugins that you want. From the manage tab, You can actually choose to either enable or disable a plugin. Which means that it is still installed on your device but it is just temporarily hidden here from the list, or you can choose to just basically uninstalled that plugin for whatever reason you might think that will be necessary. And that's basically it. This is the plugin ecosystem ready to go and very easy to use.
