Installing plugins

- [Emily] There are three ways to install plugins in WordPress. You can install them right from WordPress, or you can download the plugin and upload it and install it or you can manually install using FTP. I will cover the first two methods as they are the most common methods. I've never needed to FTP a plugin up to WordPress. The easiest way of installing a plugin is to use the plugin search from within WordPress. Here I am on the dashboard which is the landing page when you log in to WordPress. I'm going to go to the Plugins section, and when I do this it's going to show me any plugins that have already been installed on my version of WordPress. I have two plugins that have been installed but they haven't by activated. Using plugins is a two-step process.
