- Links are a pattern used for navigating a user from one area to another. They can also be used as a lower-priority call-to-action. Links, or hyperlinks are a fairly standard design element and most users are familiar with how to use them. If you need a stronger call-to-action, it's best to use a button. Links needs to be clearly labeled. Since the element is embedded within content, the label sets expectations for the user on where they're going to go when they select it. The navigation should also be clear when they land in their new destination. Links should be front-loaded with the action so when the user reads the link, the first thing they see is the most important information. This helps when users are quickly scanning content.
