- [Instructor] Spinners are used for showing an indeterminate process, or for a process that doesn't have a clear end time. Spinners don't show specific information for when a process will be completed, rather they provide feedback to the user that something is happening. Spinners are typically used for loading states and are most useful if the information takes longer than a second, otherwise the time period is too short to display a spinner. Typically, if something's going to take around two to three seconds, you may want to show a spinner as it might be perceived as waiting too long without some sort of system feedback. Spinners are sometimes used inline, or at page level. When used inline, they're typically used on buttons if the button has triggered the action. The button usually has a state change to show that it's committing the action. They can also be used inline if an action was taken in an area of the page…
