- [Instructor] The goal of the search results page are to give the user enough clarity to determine if their search resulted in the information they were looking for. Search results pages have various layouts, but there's some standard design patterns which include the following elements: the search term used, the number of results, sorting, and filtering. We'll talk more about filtering in a different video. Showing the search term helps the user understand why they're viewing the results. For example, if the search term entered was pants, you might get results with brand names that include the word pants. This helps the user understand why they're seeing a result that isn't a pair of pants, but rather, the brand name including the work pants.
