- [Narrator] I know this may sound odd, but it is a common best practice to run a user test using a paper prototype. This is not a formal test, but one designed to get feedback from real users and for you to learn very early on in the process whether your ideas and concepts actually work. Based on the feedback, you may need to further refine your project, a process called iteration. Now, that may sound daunting, but really it just requires you to pick up your pen and scissors to solve the identified issues. Though user testing is a huge topic, the purpose of a test is to find and solve conceptual issues using a cheap and readily available medium, rather than have them appear when the interface is being coded.
