Types of inputs and key components

- [Instructor] Every web form has at least three basic elements. Labels, input fields, and actions. Labels are responsible for asking questions. Input fields provide a way for people to answer those questions. And actions allow people to submit the answers that they have provided. There are quite a few different input types. The most common ones are the text-based inputs. These have a variety of types associated with them. Here we see plain text and password input types. As of HTML5, you can also specify in the code numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, and dates. Here's an example of an HTML5 date input field, and you can see when I click on the drop down, it actually opens up a little calendar. Just by associating this input field with the date type, I have the ability to display a calendar, which makes selecting the date much easier.
