- [Instructor] What are the parts of a design system? A basic one has colors, typography, and shapes. This is pretty much the foundation of any design system, and as you get into a more solid scenario, maybe you can start with guiding principles for both the developer and the designer. We're building this app or this system because of X, because of Y. This is how we're going to collaborate. And then you jump into colors and typography, your foundation, and your shapes start to evolve and become more complex. Maybe you do your iconography, a set of icons to be used in your designs and code. Your shapes become components. So not only the atomic ones like buttons, search fields, but also nested components that represent more value, that deliver more value. Maybe it's a transaction card that will be used by users.
