Why do we need a design system?
- [Instructor] Why do we need a design system? Let's go over this scenario. A designer is working on designs for an app that we're creating, our website that we're creating, and then a designer goes there, designs all the pages, all the screens, with the buttons and components and all that, that's so statically there on a design file, then once it's all done, according to the designer, he or she throws all that content to a developer almost like over a wall and say, "Hey, this is it, go build it." So first of all, the developer will feel like, "Oh my God, I'm just getting this thing "that I have no ownership on and it's just something "that lands on my lap and I have to built?" So that creates a friction. So this is really, really bad. And as the company or the product scales and you have more designers and more developers, imagine how crazy this scenario gets.
