The role of motion in a prototype
- [Instructor] Let's talk about motion in the context of UX design. Now, I'm going to start with a typical UX story. As I'm telling the story, I want you to fix the mental image of what I am saying into your mind. So here goes. When the user clicks the hamburger icon, which is circled, a menu slides in. And that's the story. Now, I have a couple of questions. Did your menu slide in from the right or the left or from the top or from the bottom? How long did it take for the menu to slide in? So what did you envision? If I were to ask all of you to tell me what you envisioned, it would be a lot different from what you're seeing. I would hear a number of differing accounts of what you saw. We all envisioned a different action, and I can bet many of you have had a client or manager tell you a menu slide in needed to be changed because "That isn't what I expected."
