The role of the stakeholder
- [Narrator] There is a group of people with the rather nebulous title of stakeholder. If you pour through the myriad of UX design articles and tutorials out there, this group makes a regular appearance. So who are these guys? In very broad terms, a stakeholder is anyone involved in the project. In rather large projects, the stakeholders range from the client who pays the bills to the members of the team. In smaller projects, the team could range from the project manager to three or four others involved in the project, or it could be a smallest you, and the client. Though the term encompasses a rather large group of individuals, we tend to forget the heart and soul of the user experience is communication. And the reason we forget about it is because is perceived as not contributing to the bottom line. Yet effective communication both up and down with the team is critical to the success of the design process.…
