- [Instructor] Grids are lines that help maintain design consistency and structure. There are many UI and UX design tools that allow you to create grids. Affinity Designer is one of them Let me show you how to set up a grid in Affinity Designer so that you can hand off your design to a developer who may be utilizing a front-end framework such as Bootstrap, for example. When you're looking at laying out a design, we need to think about it from the standpoint of a user looking at it on the desktop or they could be looking at your design on a tablet or mobile device. We use these guides as the system to be able to change your design to conform to those different size formats. By using that system, it communicates easily for the developer who's creating it to see exactly where your design is supposed to be laid out in that format.
