- [Instructor] Having a basic understanding of how to effectively apply lights and shadows to a design will help the user get a better understanding of how the objects in your design relate to how we see and interact with objects in the real world. In this video, I'd like to quickly show you how to apply common shadow effects. And I'll also walk you through a few examples that utilize this technique. So earlier on in this course if you've been following along, we did a login screen for a desktop. I'd like to make a mobile version, and this is what I'm representing right here in this scene. If you look at this design you'll notice that it has labels and has icons, and they all give you an idea of what's supposed to happen here. And shadows could bring it to the next level of understanding for the user. Now, if I were to turn these labels off, it just looks like a bunch of shapes. So let's keep the labels on and…
