Creating a night effect with Curves

- [Narrator] Here's a view of a London street in late afternoon. And I was particularly taken with this sweet shop which has these giant models in the window. But I think it would look much better if it were at night. So here's an easy way to do that. We'll go to the Select menu, and select Tonal Range, and then Highlights, and that picks up all of the highlights in the image. We want to darken the mid-tones and the shadows, so let's invert that selection, and now everything except the highlight is selected. When we choose a new adjustment layer, let's choose Curves, that automatically appears with a layer mask that matches our selection. So we can deselect. Rather than just darkening the whole curve, let's go to the red channel, grab the brightest point, and drag that down, and go to the green channel, and do the same there. Perhaps not to quite the same extent. There's still a bit too much red in here, so let's go go back to the red channel and darken the mid-tones there a little…
