Making seamless textures

- [Instructor] Here's a section of a stone wall and I want to make a seamless texture out of this. That could be used in a game, it could be used for 3D modeling or it could just be used to make an endless wall. If we were simply to duplicate and repeat this section of wall we'd get an ugly join of the edges. And the way to fix that is to begin by using the Affine filter. So we'll go to Filters, Distort, and Affine. We'll begin by offsetting the x value by 50%. And that moves the left hand edge 50% over towards the right and it takes the section that was on the right and puts it on the left. We can change the y offset by 50% as well and then that moves the whole image across and down. So the corners of the original image are not all clustered together right in the middle. All we have to do now is to get rid of horizontal and vertical joins. We can fix them using the Clone tool. So let's have a look at the top.
