Learn about using the RAW controls for working with detail
- [Instructor] We could also address…the noise amount in this image.…Let's zoom in, and because it was taken…on a bright, sunny day,…there's actually very little noise in here.…But we can go into the detail studio,…and here we could turn on noise reduction…by dragging the strength slider,…and we could control the amount…to which the noise applies to the color,…which is preset at 100%,…and the luminance.…
And as we drag the luminance,…you can see how soft this is getting.…But in fact, on the image we're working with,…there's very little noise there,…so we can turn that off.…We can, however, enhance the detail…by increasing both the radius and the amount,…and this is a sharpening filter…that brings a lot of extra detail…particularly into these architectural areas.…There it is before,…and there it is after we've applied this refinement.…
If we wanted, we could also add noise…to this image if we want to go…for that grainy effect.…Let's not do that in this case.…We'll zoom out, and there's the whole image so far.…
