Removing blemishes

- [Instructor] Here's a different kind of case where you can use frequency separation. There are no wrinkles on this young woman's face, but if we zoom in, we can see there are a number of blemishes on the skin. This is an ideal candidate for using frequency separation. Once again, let's duplicate the layer, and we'll go to filters, frequency separation. In this case, we want to have a look at the blemishes here. Let's mirror the image, so we see the same on both sides, and we can hold the space bar down as we drag to move it around. And we can see there's some blemish visible on the cheek in the low frequency version, but we can also see it in the high frequency. So let's drag the radius slider to move those blemishes entirely onto the low frequency side. And round about there, we've definitely brought them over to this side. If we check the feature protection button, then it keeps more of that detail on the low frequency side. At first glance, there's almost nothing going on on the…
