Learn about using adjustments to make the sky stronger.
- [Instructor] We've added an adjustment…to our background image.…Now let's add another one to the sky…to boost the tones there.…So in the layer studio, select the sky…by tapping on it.…Back to the adjustments,…and this time let's add…a simple brightness and contrast adjustment.…We can boost the contrast by tapping and dragging.…
And that's a much stronger sky.…The problem is, it's also applied that adjustment…to the background.…Let's see why.…Go back to the layer studio, and you can see…that because this brightness contrast adjustment…is right at the top, it applies…to everything beneath it.…To apply it just to the sky layer,…tap and hold on it and drag it…into that sky layer.…
Now it only applies to the sky.…We can turn it on and off.…There's the original sky,…and there it is with our adjustment.…Also, nested inside this sky layer…you can see there's the mask,…which we can turn on and off,…and the brightness and contrast beneath it.…So when you want to apply an adjustment…or the mask to a specific layer,…you drag it into that layer,…
