- [Instructor] We're in 0401 Squash and if you want to follow along and you have access to the exercise files, you can open it now. Squash and stretch is one of my favorite principles of animation and it can really add a lot of character to your animation. You'll see here we've got this bouncing ball which looks okay, the timing's okay. But it still looks a bit rigid. To really make it come to life, we're gonna use squash and stretch. Now, you may think, okay well we want to squash the ball here, so let's use scale. So what I do is click on the stopwatch for scale, move to here, where it would be squashed, and then I would squash either the X or Y axis. Couple of problems, first of all you'll notice that it's scaling around the anchor points. Now I'm gonna undo that and show you another problem. So another problem is quite often I'll want to have auto orient switched on, and auto orient will allow the ball to change direction as it travels. If I choose orient along path and click…
