Adding highlights to 2D text

- Adding glows to type is one of those techniques where you can build off of your previous knowledge working with generators. If you wanna create random moving highlights, you can animate something like this cell pattern, or if you wanna create something more uniform, you can animate stripes or radio waves. I encourage you to go ahead and play with some of the different generators right now just to see how many different kinds of highlights you can create. If you've been following along in the training, you probably recognize this composition. It's our animated lightning composition, and we're gonna go ahead and use this as a starting point for our highlights animation. So if we look at the comp, here I'll just scrub in the timeline, you can see I've got lightning that's sort of lighting up the text, and what I wanna do is add, believe it or not, even more pop to this scene, and in order to do that I wanna start by adding a background.
