- [EJ] Welcome to Motion Graphics Weekly where you up your mo graph knowledge one week at a time. I'm EJ Hassenfratz. Let's get our learn on. It's important to pay attention to trends when it comes to design or motion design and one trend that's become popular is texturing shapes using grain or grunge to give the animations a little bit more of a stylized look. In this week's video, I'm going to show you how you can apply a grainy noise texture quickly and easily inside of Adobe After Effects. So here's our little noodle shape inside of After Effects and what I'm going to do to add the noise is to use a familiar layer style called bevel and emboss. So I'm going to select my shape layer here, go to Layer, Layer Styles, Bevel and Emboss and I twirl down my Bevel and Emboss settings, give it a little bit more room here, you can see that we added some fairly cheesy looking bevel and emboss with the default settings and don't have anything exciting to look at thus far.
