Basic terminology

- [Instructor] Just like the design world, the world of digital video and audio or DVA, as it's sometimes abbreviated to, has its own language with its own terms to describe different events and processes. Here's an example. As a designer, if you're bringing an asset into an application like Photoshop, you may well place it or import it. Design professionals use that language all the time, every day, and they understand each other perfectly well. In the DVA world, they would say ingest media. There are other terms as well such as cues, markers, and different things like that and it could be a bit bewildering. So, to make that easier, I've created a PDF that is a crib sheet including some of those terms and also places where you can learn a bit more about some of the topics we'll be discussing in this course. Hopefully that will help. At the end you can get in touch with me and let me know if it helped or not or what I might add to that to make it clearer because this is something I can update fairly easily.
