Cinema 4D dynamics for 2D animation

- Welcome to Motion Graphics Weekly where you up your Mograph knowledge one week at a time. I'm EJ Hassenfratz. Let's get our learn on. There are many misconceptions about 3D. Especially when it comes to how useful it can be in a 2D workflow. In this video, I'm going to show you how you can use the powerful Dynamics engine in Cinema 4D to create some complex looking 2D animation super fast. So Dynamics is the real world physics engine in Cinema 4D. We're going to use it to create this animation where all these little shapes fill up this plus sign volume. So let's first create the plus sign by creating a cube. We're going to change the size in the X to 350. 350 in the Y. And then we'll just make this 25 centimeters in the Z. We're going to make this editable by hitting C. And now I can select and access all of the polygons here. So I'll get my polygon selection tool, and select all of the outer edges here. And then I'm going to just extrude this by hitting M. And then going to the…
