Creating a water displacement
- [Instructor] To integrate the hands clip to the paddle we'll use the displacement map effect which distort an image based on another layer pixels value. It can work on its own, but if you want to create a more convincing effect you can take advantage of my displacement recipe that works like a charm every time. So, this is what we have so far and what I would like to do is pause the playback somewhere here in the middle select the last layer over here, this is the hand layer and I'll solo it as well as go to the effect menu choose Distort, and then choose the displacement map effect. Now, I'll choose one of the paddle layers those are the same layers, so it doesn't really matter which one, five or six. And then I'll change the horizontal, as well as the vertical displacement to use the luminance which will give us some sort of an average between the RGB channels.
