Exploring the After Effects user interface
- Before we go deeper into the six foundations, I'd like to point out a few common things about the After Effects UI itself. My goal here is to help you avoid common problems as you learn your way around. After effects is a dynamic environment. And so, here are some tips to manage it and what to do if what you see on your screen isn't what you expect. We'll start with the welcome screen. So, by default you're going to see this screen when you open up After Effects. You're free to use it, but I tend to just close it. And you might only see it again if you close it once you reopen the application. So, you'll see me working from the main UI, which you see here. Right now, the main UI looks kind of weird. And that is because it's a dynamic environment that saves whatever it was the previous state that you were using it in. So, in this case I was working with a workspace called minimal.
