- [Instructor] If we're working in 3D, let's make the next step and give our logo some depth animation. So to extrude stuff inside After Effects, we need to switch render engine or renderer as After Effects call it. Currently we are working with the default classic 3D. If I'm going to click over here, we'll see that this render is treating 3D layers as planes in 3D space. So we don't have any real depth and extrusion. If we want to get to this options, we need to switch renderer. With the version that I'm using, I have two additional options, we have Cinema 4D and the Ray-traced 3D in parentheses deprecated. This engine is depending on a GPU card specifically from NVIDIA. So I'm going to use the Cinema 4D which is going to allow us to extrude and bevel text and shape layers.
