Faking opacity reduction
The OpenGL engine that Element 3D is based on is obviously incredible, very powerful, very fast, and has a lot of benefits. But, as I mentioned throughout the training series there are some limitations. It doesn't do accurate shadows for example. It also doesn't do accurate reflections. It also doesn't handle Opacity changes very well. But, they have added a fake way to force the Opacity of objects. So, we're going to look at it to create this example. (video playing with music) So, I'm going to go ahead and go to the Opacity Start Comp where you could like the before version of this without Opacity. You could see how these spheres are getting in the way of the text and just looks really clunky. Not really good at all here. So, I am going to go ahead and select the Element layer, click Scenes Setup, and this is all you have to do. I want to click on the Material for the sphere.
