Introduction to this course

- [Instructor] Hello everybody. Welcome to this course on creating effects. This one is going to be a blast and might be the course I was most looking forward to in making this series. We're going to be talking about fire and magic and explosions and all kinds of fun stuff. After an introductory chapter looking at helpful concepts, we'll look at how to enhance practical lights to create very subtle effects. Then we'll dig into this shot and iteratively build the look of the eyes in Photoshop and then in After Effects. We'll look at how to build this little magic ball and Trapcode Form and Trapcode Particular and how to make these cool little 3D swishes from scratch without any plug-ins. Then we'll look at how to build explosions using live action footage, including some tricks I used and some challenges I had. And we'll also take a fun look at supplementing the live action sparks and embers with Trapcode Particular. And then, probably my favorite part of this course, we're going to look at how to make the big ball of magic from the finale sequence. We'll start from scratch with fractal noise and build this thing up, learning tons along the way and we'll also look at how to use Trapcode Form to create the fiery top of the magic ball as well. Finally, we'll wrap up the course by digging a bit more into the effects of the finale sequence, including making swirling particles in Cinema 4D and constructing a custom lens flare from scratch in Optical Flares. Folks this course is going to be fun, like serious fun start to finish. So, let's handle a couple logistical issues about the Exercise Files and all that and then jump in to more visual effects.
