Looking at the storyboards

- [Instructor] In this chapter, we're going to be creating the opening title sequence for our project. And I've storyboarded it as I do with anything over just a few seconds, to give me an idea of when and where things need to be. It's really important I think that this is a manual process, because it gives you time to think through and plan, and just imagine timings and rapidly make changes, rather than committing too much to digital. They don't have to be super elaborate storyboards, you're not making a Hollywood epic, really they're just a guide for you to work to. I often say to people when I'm asked, right it's like building a house. You wouldn't just turn up at a field that you've bought and suddenly start putting bricks on top of each other. It might work, hmm, probably won't (laughs) but there you are, and that's the same with this. You also don't have to buy elaborate storyboard pads or anything like that if you don't want to. You can make them, you've got Creative Cloud, so that's exactly what I did here. And in fact, in the other files, in the exercise files there's actually some popular formats in there do you to just print and use. So in this one I just describe in action by using arrows, and words underneath, and rough timings here, okay, how this is all going to work out. And then carries onto the next page just here and does pretty much the same thing. So even if you do them on Post-it notes and sit them in a sequence, it's a good idea to have a set of storyboards to work to.
