- [Narrator] Just like an InDesign file, the contents of an After Effects project basically cannot be viewed in their final form, other than right here in the application. Just like there's no publication until you publish, there's no movie until you move it out of After Effects. In other words, you have to render it. This word render, I think implies that there is some work to be done by this process, it's more than just an export. And that is true in a couple ways. One, is that it can take time. And the other one, is that it is a decision process that you actually, in some cases need to know what you're doing. But in this lesson, I want to focus on what you'll be doing about 80% or more of the time. So this is a great example right here, for the simple reason that the native file that we worked on is not probably what I want to export. And for that reason, I have placed that inside this other render composition. So…
