- [Instructor] This movie will show you a different technique when it comes to animating a character. This time, we're going to animate a character, a simple motion, in After Effects, using the puppet pin tool and some basic tweening of position and rotation. So, what we're going to be looking at here is the pin system. So, this allows us to do these amazing deformations of the character. So, it's something that you can do entirely inside After Effects, and let's see how. So, on the top left here, you can see the original static image, and there's only so much you can do with one of these. You really need to separate out the different body parts if you want to do anything interesting. So, on the right side, because I made this figure in Flash, and it was already on layers, it was very simple for me just to break apart all the layers and import them into After Effects, and actually, I went one further and just copied them all so that they're in the smallest possible image.
