Sampling colors from photographs in Adobe Illustrator
- [Announcer] Before I develop any artwork for my animations I experiment with color. It will save you a lot of time if the colors are chosen and locked down at the beginning of your project. Any artwork you create can be developed using these pre-selected colors. I usually start with a file similar to this one in Illustrator. You can open this file too if you want to follow along. It's called 01cabincolors. If you don't lock down the colors at the start you run the risk of inconsistent colors throughout your design. This can make a design seem messy, chaotic and amateurish. A good place to begin is by sampling colors from images that appeal to you. These can be photographs or reference images like we see here. Or you may choose the sample colors from other animations or designs that have appealed to you.
