- [Voiceover] As I mentioned in the last movie, I need to separate the crown from the shadow catcher, so that I can render them independently if necessary. To do that, I can put them on their own layers in Cinema 4D. I'll tap back to Cinema. The first thing I want to do is put the crown onto its own layer, so I can separate it out from the shadow catcher. Now, the crown actually has lots of elements that make it up. See this little plus symbol to the left? That indicates there's a hierarchy of objects that have been collapsed. If I click on that to expand it, you'll see that there's many different pieces that actually make up this crown. To make sure that I've selected every single piece, I'll right-click on the crown and say, Select the Children as well. Now that I have all of those objects that make up the crown selected, I'll right-click on it one more time and say, Add to a brand-new layer. Make the crown its own object that I can isolate.
