Shape layer intro
- [Instructor] Shape layers are a powerful tool that allows After Effects to generate its own vector art within the program. Now you might think of them as a mini version of Illustrator directly inside of After Effects. Let's see how these work. First and foremost, when it comes to creating shape layers, make sure that you don't have any layers selected inside of your timeline. Then all we have to do is come up over here to either these primitives or our Pen tool to create a shape layer. So with these shapes here, we have a list of primitives, including a rectangle, an ellipse, a polygon, and so forth. I'll select my Ellipse tool. And if we come over here we have options for fill and stroke. So we can color the center of our shape one color and our stroke, the outline, a different color. If we tap on the word, Fill or Stroke, this brings up the options. Now I can cycle through the various modes including solid color,…
