- Welcome to Motion Graphics Weekly, where you up your mo-graph knowledge one week at a time. I'm EJ Hassenfratz, let's get our learn on. The real world physics engine inside of Cinema 4D is a powerful and really fun feature to play around with, especially the soft body dynamics. One problem people often run into when using soft body dynamics is a very slow calculation when using higher poly objects. In this week's video, I'll show you how you can avoid those issues by utilizing a low poly proxy object that will drive the higher poly object's soft body deformations, that will drastically speed up your soft body simulations. So here's our little ducky that we have some soft body dynamics applied to as you can see here. And if I go ahead and turn on Gouraud Shadings lines, you can actually see how dense of a mesh this is.
