Stylizing maps with gradients

- One of the easiest ways to add depth and style to any graphic is to add some gradients. In this video, we're going to stylize our map using the Gradient Ramp effect. Let's get started. As you can see, my project is rather bland. I've got a royal blue solid background and I just have a white map. So the first thing I want to do is actually create a little bit of depth in this project and the way I'll do that is to add a gradient. So, notice when I select Layer 2, it's a solid and it's blue. Now if I go up to my Effects, I can go down to Generate, and add a Gradient Ramp. So when I choose that, notice it's completely overwritten the original royal blue color. So whatever settings I have here in the Gradient Ramp is what's actually going to be applied. I can blend these colors back with the original by increasing this Blend with Original option, which can give me a neat effect. Notice now I've still got a blue tint, but the black and white luminance is actually giving it a neat effect.…
