An introduction to keying in Adobe Premiere Pro

- Premiere Pro offers several different approaches to keying, but there's one standout effect, which is the ultra keyer. Let's use it to create a good composite. I'm going to choose to work with key one to start. I'll select the clip here. Hold down the opt key to grab just the video, and drag up. That created a copy. You can delete away the rest of the clip or option drag to select just part. I don't actually need to audio, so I'll delete it here. And let's put a background behind it. This one looks good. So I'll drag that into place, and adjust the handles so they match in time. Now select the top clip and go to your effects browser. Type in the word, key. And you'll see a few different options. Now I have some third-party tools in here. We'll talk about those in a moment, but you'll see a category called keying.
