- [Instructor] So here we have a subdive element. and I want to extract a small portion of this element and use it in my design elsewhere. So the first thing I need to do with the extractment, is I'm just going to go into top view. I do need to have my control points active. So let's go ahead, switch on the CV halts. And I'm going to go into the pick point types and let's go to pick face. So I want to extract this middle band, so I'm going to select that middle band, and let's go to subdive, extract face and let's look at our options. The only option we have really is to keep original. And I want to do that right now. And let's say, go to that and let's just move, I'm to move it in the Z direction. So that's an extracted portion of that handle and that actually is a subdive element. So if I light it up, if a press B for box mode, you can see that that actually is a subdive.
