- In this video I'm gonna show you how to flatten or planarize hulls on a surface. Now a surface is a little bit more complex because we have a U and a V direction. And I'm gonna show you how to do this very quickly in Alias. Now at some point it will help you get started, but there's always some finessing that you may have to do manually afterwards, but this will be a really good starting point cleaning up these surfaces. So let's Shade this surface up and let's see what we have. We've got a three dimensional surface and I'm gonna drop straight into the TOP view, and make sure you're in Orthographic, because we don't want to add any distortion due to a perspective view. So let's go to wire frame and let's open up Surface Edit, Planarize Hull, and let's start off with Single, Best Fit, and Adaptive. Now in this case I want to switch off my Grids, and I've also inserted a black line from the end of this hull to the end of this hull and it's just a straight line that shows you how these…
