How to crease and uncrease edges
- Just by their very nature, subdivision surfaces are designed to have smooth transitions between each face. But what if you want to create a crease or a sharp edge between those transitions? I'm going to show you how to do that using the crease command. So, first of all let's go ahead and create something very simple. So under subdivisions, we're going to go to extrude global. Let's just pick this curve. We'll go up space bar, click on this blue and then click on the scion, space bar, up, space bar and then we're going to just pull that back in, like so. Doesn't really matter about the shape. It's just a case of getting something that's got some rounded shape to it or rounded form. Right so there's our subdivision surface. The first thing is you do have to have your control points active. So let's pick that up and light up the control points. And now we're going to go to our crease command. So crease and…
