- Let's take a look at a very powerful command in sub div called retopology. So retopology the principle behind it is, it essentially takes a reference data. For example in this case, it's our mesh data. And it makes that into a great big magnet and everything we create gets sucked down into that magnet. So really it's another form of reverse engineering. So let's take a look at this. If I just shade this by pressing S or I can go up to hardware shade. You can see that it's basically a mesh of a seat insert. Okay, so let's go into subdivision and we're going to double-click on retopology. And we have a snap distance. By the way this is not a distance in millimeters.
